Amplifier Confusion?!?
Well, I'm new to buying guitars, and I want to buy an electric guitar and an amp. I've already done research for the guitars but I'm CLUELESS with amps.
On Sam Ash Direct, after clicking on "Amps", this page comes up showing different types of amps.
What are all of these things?

I'll give you some quick answers though:
Tube amps use tubes to create tone and distortion while solid state amps use electronics to create this distortion. Many professionals prefer using tube amps because they sound "warmer" and more organic than solid state amps. However, as said on the page "most beginners go with solid state amps because they're so affordable, lightweight, and versatile."
A combo amp is a combination of an amp head and and amp speaker in one unit for simplicity as opposed to a "stack" in which these two units are separated. Further explanation can be found on the suggested page, however, the vast majority of beginners chose combo amps rather than "stacks".
For a beginner I would suggest you get a solid state combo amp (5-15 watts if your practicing in a bedroom situation). This is what most beginners choose for the sake of simplicity and affordability.
