Okay so like it says. I'm ordering a new rad for my car (96 Mitsubishi Eclipse) and they always ask Manual or Automatic Transmission when I call. Whats the difference? and on a new one on ebay they say it works both for Manual and Automatic..whole reason why I want to know the difference.

Two main differences. First, the radiator for an automatic transmission has a cooler built into it for transmission fluid to flow through. Transmissions operate at much higher temperatures than the engine and therefore moving the transmission fluid through a cooler in the radiator cools the transmission fluid considerably.
Second, radiators for automatic transmissions usually have additional cooling capacity because the transmission fluid contributes to heating the coolant.
The one you purchase on eBay may not cool as efficiently as one purchased from an local supplier. The reason the one on eBay will fit either application is that it is for the automatic transmisson that has the integral transmission cooler and if you install it on a standard transmission vehicle, you just plug the extra holes.
