Repeating background noise from TV to heaphones?
I have just bought a pair of Sennheiser HD 555 headphones to listen to the TV after my partner has gone to sleep. My TV (Toshiba WLT66) has a headphone socket into which I have plugged the heaphones using the jack provided in the packaging.
Unfortuneately there seems to be a repeating noise occuring in the left earphone every half a second or so. I think that this is likely to be a problem with the TV headphone socket (which I have never tried until today) as there is no such interference when I use them through my laptop.
Is there a way in which I can try to remedy the problem with the socket? Or is there another way in which I can output from my TV in case the socket is faulty?
Thanks for any advice.
I have now resolved this - it appears that my TV set was too close to my base telephone handset and moving it further away seems to have done the trick.
since its working fine with the laptop, the headphones are ok. Now normally what happens is at the headphone socket on the tv, its connected via small capacitors one for each channel left and right. for some impedance matching i believe.
this capacitor might have aged out causing the pb.
Ask a technician to rectify it, i think it should solve the pb.
