In general, manual cars are cheaper.. so anyways, which transmission is better (I'm really asking this as a matter of opinion since you can't really tell which one is *better*)? I heard manual was really annoying to drive in traffic.. but was better for alot of things (fuel efficiency, speed..)
side question: are manual cars hard to drive? How long did it take for it to become second nature?
An auto set up various car to car so anyone whom says they are rubbish cannot really say due to that many mix of auto transmissions out there
as said also each auto car feels different.
IE the car i drive now has a mix of manual overdrive button and a power button which allows redline changes and also a rev hold button to keep the gear revving in that gear into the button is pressed again.Also the power is instant one slightly heavy touch to the pedal and the car is off at great power and with the power button if needed redlining all the way and changes that are way faster than i could do manually and into any corners the car drops for them and powers straight out.Not that you will drive like this but an example of how these cars are not boring and i drive stick also but as said feel no great excitement moving a stick up and down,and even less when i took a friends low cc car for a spin and that was manual and to be fair i was fed up moving the stick up and down for a small amount of extra power.
So in this day and age both cars are good to drive and auto's are well beyond the sit back and go stage,most modern cars have a form of auto set up like the new Charger and Mustang as well as the new Nissan GT-R and the new Evo X.
I learned in a manual so it was nature to me and was strange to relearn to drive an auto as i found it harder, as driving is quicker without having to re power speed up in a manual.
