Where can I find a software pre-amplifier for my microphone?
Now, before you go all "LOL, IMPOSSIBLE" on me, hear me out. I'm neither worried about noise, nor sound quality. All I'm doing is taking an old studio mic and using at a chat microphone, since mine broke, and I don't have the budget to buy a new one. I'm getting enough of a level that I can record something, amplify it in audacity, and have it come out just fine, but I need something that does it in realtime so I can use it with skype, or games. Thanks.
Why not just buy a hardware preamp and send signal into your computer already hot? I've never heard of a real-time preamp.
