How to Convert 12 volt adapter from 500mA to 1000mA?
i've got an adapter with the foll specs, Input: AC: 200/220V 50Hz Output: DC 12 V, 500 mA The internal components are, 1 Transformer, 1 LED, 4 nos Diodes with 0.02 written on it, 1 Capacitor 16V 2200uF, 1 Resistor with the Color combination orange orange brown golden ( 330ohms, which i think is for the LED only) Its working fine, what if i have to convert it to 1000mA ? What modifications need to be done?
You can't really modify the adapter to supply more current. The current is limited by the inductive reactance in small power adapters. You can't change this without changing the transformer. Then the rest of the components may not handle the higher current. If this has a voltage regulator in may overheat with more current. It's would be easier and probably cheaper to buy a 12 volt converter that's rated at the current you want.
