Whats my car worth please answer?

I have a 1990 VN Commodore. It's an automatic and I picked it up for $950. I would really like to put a Manual transmission in it, but I don't mind selling it to a dealer and then buying a manual commodore.
But what would you recommend (and no smart ass "keep it the way it is" comments) sell it and buy a manual or keep it and buy a manual trans and get a mechanic to install it?

Like i said its a 1990 Commodore VN Executive. 210,000 on the clock, rego till may, beautiful stock paint job, air con, brand new tyres as of two weeks ago, original head unit, new clarion 180W speakers in the rear, drives like a dream accept the trans is a little slow. 6 seater (Steering column shifter)
Whats this car worth exactly? A dealer said 4-5 grand, but I don't know if he was just trying to lure me into it or not..

any suggestions?

It's heaps easier to buy a manual car. Removing a column auto & putting in a floor shift manual leaves loads of trim work to be done, holes to be cut & interior panels to chase up. $2500 is about top price for a clean vn with decent km's but dealers only give a good price on trade for more expensive cars. V8 manual vr-s commodores are getting cheap, I'm trying to replace my vp with a later SS now.
