I have a 99 accord ex, and the package it came with included a tape deck. Because it is not part of the radio, but really a separate unit beneath it, could I just slide it out and use an AV to AUX adapter? Also does anyone know how to remove it because it seems like you would have to take the whole dash apart top do it :/

But if you're not comfortable with disassembling your dash I doubt this is something you'd want to tackle on your own.
I'm not familiar with the wiring scenario for a honda, but with the remote mounted cassette it is possible you can tap into the wiring and connect an auxiliary input.
I have an older Taurus SHO w/in-dash tape player and a remote mounted cd changer. One of the many taurus websites had a very thorough how to for doing exactly what you want to do.
Like I said - I'm not familiar with the Hondas, but it makes sense that there may be something you can do since you have the tape player separate from the receiver.
I would suggest finding some honda specific forums and searching/asking for any info on a hard wired aux in with a remote tape player like yours. You might have some options.
