Need a VGA driver for a cheap Target Computer?
I am fixing up a friends PC and I have only a very basic notion of what needs to be done. I formatted it and put Windows xp pro with service pack 3. the major issue is the the company who made these pc's went out of business about 3 years ago and there are no drivers out there anywhere. I have tried a few generic drivers but they are all saying they are not compatible with the hardware. Control panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager says "Video Controller VGA Compatible" All I know is - Icom 1600c desktop. The Monitor has no indication of anything. It is driving me insane! Sorry for being incompetent in the way of knowledge.
Open up that PC, Check if the VGA is built on-board or it uses seperate VGA card. In both the cases identify the number and check for the driver online. Dont mention it as a cheap computer. You friend prefered to have his PC assembled by that computer shop, thats all... That doesnt mean that the company used cheap hardwares..
So indentify the VGA card, or if it comes with motherboard then identify the motherboard and let me know,,.
