bearded dragon?
I just got a bearded dragon today it's about 11 months old and about 6 inches not including his tail he's living in a 30 gal aquarium with some driftwood a large basking stone, the substrate I used was pool filter sand ( wich is just crushed quartz its not sharp and has a pretty large grain) I went out and bought a lamp, some food with calcium a water dish and some crikets , is there naything else I should be doing? or did I set up his habitat correctly? hes eaten some leaf lettuce and a cricket but not the special bearded dragon food I bought him how could I get him to eat it? sorry I have alot of questions:)
the light i got is called exo terra sun glo is that UBV?

You need UVB lighting. This is extremely important (as adressed in the care sheet link above) They need it in order to digest food and absorb calcium without it they can get MBD (metabolic bone disease) which can be fatal
Take out the sand switch to reptile carpet tile slate rock, lanolium flooring, newspaper or paper towels
he wont eat the special food because its dead... most of them only go after live food try hand feeding it and wiggling it above his face.... good luck and have fun with the little guy. Be sure to do your research any questions email me:

Nope, these actually supply UVA rays which too much can be harmful. It supplies heat correct? You need a heat light and a uvb light... here is a link to UVB lights so you get an idea of what Im talking about. Glad I checked back Good luck again
