i am in the process of building a tiny tube amp with CK512AXs. i have it on a breadboard in a resistance-coupled configuration.
unfortunately, it is not very powerful(somewhere in the region of 16microWatts). i was thinking i could use subminiature transformers to inductively couple the input and output.
question 1: would i be correct in assuming that the plate-side of the primary could swing above and below the other side due to the primary inductance?
question 2: are there subminiature transformers in existance that have that air-gap that is apparently necessary with Single Ended output transformers?
question 4: is it a silly idea to build this into a guitar(to be used as a preamp)?
16 microwatts, you have a mistake somewhere... You should get a gain of 20 at least out of each stage if you have it biased correctly (I'm a bit rusty, been a long time since i worked with tubes)
Adding negative feedback will only reduce the gain.
Adding positive feedback will add distortion and cause oscillation.
