How do you test old radio valves to see if they work ?
I have a set of old radio 'ken-rad' valves from my uncle. I want to sell them on eBay but I dont know if they work. Is there a way I can test them ?
I haven't designed a tube circuit for 30 years!
There used to be tube testers in all the drug stores, but not any more.
Perhaps if you are lucky you can find one somewhere that you can use, perhaps a good electronic parts store.
Lacking that, all you can do is check the heater for continuity, as an open heater is the most common failure mode. Get the datasheet for the tubes, and find out what pins are the heater (filament) and see if you measure a low resistance there. 1-100 ohms area.
