Sound System Setup for Turntable - 150Watt Speakers with 200 Watt Receiver?
Hello! Please help my brain rest!
I am trying to setup a good sound system to play vinyl records on a budget. This is what I have purchased:
Sony Floor Speakers 150 Watt- SSF5000
Sony 2-Channel Amplifier 200 Watt - STR-DH100
Audio-Technica Turntable - AT-PL120
My questions:
1. Am I getting good sound out of those speakers running a 100W per channel amplifier (I think Sony gives it a rating of 90W per channel) -- not sure why they do that.
2. Am I going to damage the speakers or amplifier in any way because of the Watt difference?

All this stuff will work and sound fine.
The wattage difference won't matter at all. Just don't turn it up till you blow it up! Most any sound system will fail if you run it loud enough, long enough.
The turntable has a phono preamp so make sure to switch it to "line" output because the receiver does not have a phono input.
Other than that, it should sound great.
