Well i am a beginner trout angler, but a skilled Bass angler. Now i am going to a lake that has been stocked with Trout idk what species though. now i have a spin rod and reel and the temperature on that day is about between 65 and 52 F. and the day before that is 65 and 42 F.
i live in katy, tx and the trout live in a lake not that fast moving, full of small fish and bluegill, has open areas and shaded areas, shallow, and deep, no obstructions except maybe a fallen tree. it has a huge deck though.
well brown trout love worms but the dug up worms are better. Why you ask well because when the store bought ones have most of their slimmy coat off but the dug up worms are fresh just like gun loses flavor they also will go after topwater lures or spinners I would buy some polorized glasses so you can see the fish in the water it realy helps to block that killing sun on the water.Trout usally hide in the shade or under rocks or where its deep you may find some in the middle where you just go in the water where it starts to go deep maybe 5ft away from that point. The temp should be a little chilly like in the morning when its cold. Moring fishing is best for me when the sun is just right behind the could but good enough to see outside.you are best going with the water running but if their is no water running go with the with the wind unless you got a heavy lure on then it dose not matter. When you bait a worm don't bait it in a knot just bait it in the middle or where the egg sack is and reel in SLOWLY Then you should get a fish. Or the can put a bobber on and cast and wait just make sure no bluegill steal your bait as they are known to do that. That 62 and 42 degress should be fine for fishing.
