your amp will be feeding 16 + 8 Ohms = 3 Ohms!
Transistor amp = overheated output transistors. If no thermal cut out, burnt out output (and often speakers)
Valve (tube amp) = overheated output transformer. reduced sound quality, long term use = burn out
.
MosFet Amp = overheat, usually amp output drops to virtualy no sound or amp shuts down completely, normally Ok after cooling down
