Was listening to Radio 5 last night at 9pm whilst having a smoke in the car. There was a programme on Homosexuals,Lesbians and Transsexuals who lived in Iraq.
The general gist was that under Saddam, whilst not legal, they could meet in certain places etc and a blind eye was turned.
Under the present system, they are being tortured (electric/rear ends being glued together etc) mutilated (genitalia cut off) and butchered (cut up like they cut up sheep).
So there is one section of society that is not pleased with the Regime Change that the war was all about, brought to them!

For the average Iraqi, this is probably true. They didn't really hold a torch for Saddam but he was kind of the least worst option - they would rather have had him in power than a screaming mad fundamentalist.
Saddam was nasty enough that he could keep people in check who, if given the chance, would be far nastier. Now that he's gone, they've all crawled out of the woodwork.
The invaders' big mistake was toppling Saddam before they'd found anyone credible to replace him. It wasn't so much regime change as regime death - at least under Saddam they actually HAD a regime.
