does go up to 1/500th sec
You are in luck.
Such cameras are very simple and operate like any other cameras of that time.
Once you figure out how to load and unload the film, all else is the same.
You will need a light meter to determine the correct exposure. Then it is up to you to set the correct shutter speed and aperture, focus and compose the shot. Done.
If you shoot indoors using ambient light, you will need to use tungsten film
With flash and shooting outdoors, use daylight film
Of course you may like to just shoot black and white film and process it yourself
How collectible it is, could be in question.
My research shows that your Royal 35 was made by the Royal Camera Co. in Japan circa 1960 and has a non-interchangeable Tominor 50mm f2.8 lens and Copal shutter with speeds of 1 sec.-1/300. Hopefully the shutter is still in some kind of reasonable calibration so it does not over expose all your images.
Had it used Lieca, Nikon or Canon mount rangefinder lenses, it may have been a nice "second" camera if you already owned any of those lenses.
